This Is An Amusing Halloween Craft For Children - Weird Spiders
Here is probably one of my most wanted Halloween crafts for children. It's swift and easy, could be done with a crowd if needed, and also is an excellent technique to go through cutting and fine motor skills with smaller kids. Older children will be able to let their creativity take over and make some truly off the wall Halloween spiders!
What you are going to need:
Black construction paper
Scissors
Glue or sticky-tape
Funny eyes (optional) or bits of paper and pens
Instructions:
Cut a rectangle of construction paper just about 3 inches by 3 1/2 inches. Tuck the shorter edge over almost an inch to fashion a crease, and unfold it up again.
Turn the paper so that the pleat is horizontal, and then cut the paper in seven organized lines up to the pleat to make eight spider's legs. When working with smaller children, pencil in the outline for them so they can repeat cutting on. When working with bigger children, demonstrate to them how to create the first cut at the midpoint, isolating the space beneath the fold into 2 halves. Next demonstrate to them how to divide up each half yet again to create quarters, and then the quarters making eighths. There is certainly no need to be overly exact.
Now put the spider around the child's finger then secure using sticky-tape or glue. Detach the spider once more and decorate - either with bits of paper or else with googly eyes. Position the spider once again on the finger then curve the legs into shape or you could coil them around a pencil.
Variations:
Dangle the spiders! Merely cut a length of black yarn (wool) and connect on the top of the spider using a small bit of sticky-tape.
Build smaller variations of these spiders to go on the ends of Halloween pencils.
Put tiny spiders on straws to brighten your Halloween table! Craft a few bigger spiders and then place them around the table too.
Cut a tiny cut on both sides of the spider's head and include a name card turning these spiders into spooky place markers!
